Nominate a deserving business or organization for one of the following Excellence Awards:Excellence in Business Award
This award will be given to a for-profit business that has been operating for 10 years or more.
Criteria: The nominee has demonstrated excellence in business operations including marketing, sales, customer service, human resources, financial management, environmental practices, etc.; is clearly viewed by peers as being a leader in business excellence; has demonstrated the best aspects of the entrepreneurial spirit; and has a strong track record of community involvement and support.
The Retail Excellence Award will be given to a business that has shown a strong commitment to outstanding service, customer loyalty, and community involvement and has demonstrated innovation within the sector.
Criteria: The business is known for its exceptional service delivered by knowledgeable staff committed to customer satisfaction. Innovation in visual merchandising, store design, product selection, use of technology, and marketing set this business apart as a leader in the retail sector.
This award will be given to an innovative for-profit business that demonstrates a strong potential for growth and has been operating for 1 to 5 years.
Criteria: The candidate has demonstrated remarkable growth, innovation, and leadership in their industry sector during the first years of operation.
This award will be given to an organization that, through its innovative human resource practices, provides employees with a positive, healthy and productive workplace.
Criteria: Through its commitment to staff development, work/life balance, fair employment practices and employee communications, the organization provides an exceptional work environment resulting in high employee satisfaction and retention.
The Export Award recognizes a business demonstrating growth in sales of their product and/or service to markets outside of the province.
Criteria: The business has demonstrated significant year-to-year percentage growth in value of export sales. The business has demonstrated quality of their export plan through innovative strategies and has potential for continued export growth. The award recipient must have been in business for more than three years and exporting for a minimum of two years.
The award recognizes the accomplishments of organizations in the not-for-profit sector which contribute to the economic, social and / or cultural well-being of the greater Charlottetown area.
Criteria: The organization must have an established reputation for delivering a high level of programs and/ or services as well as a track record of efficient and effective management and strong board governance.

Nominees must be members in good standing of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce (GCACC). Nominees are asked to complete a nomination package which is submitted to a panel of independent judges. All information provided to the judging panel is kept confidential. The Entrepreneur of the Year and Volunteer of the Year are selected by the Executive Committee of the GCACC. Finalists in an award category are not eligible for subsequent nomination in that category for a three year period. Nominees are eligible for consideration in one award category per year.
