At the annual general meeting on May 10, Rory Francis will take on the role of president of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Since 2004 Rory Francis has been Executive Director of the Prince Edward Island BioAlliance, a not-for-profit cluster of bioscience businesses, academic and research organizations, and government agencies that include over 50 companies earning over $200 million in annual sales. He is a founder of the Emergence Bioscience Business Incubator, and Natural Products Canada, a new national business accelerator, based in PEI. From 1991 to 2003, Mr. Francis held Deputy Minister positions in several provincial government departments.
Current president Pam Williams will remain on the executive as past-president. Several new volunteers also plan to assume roles: Dawn Binns (Insight Brand & Marketing Studio) will join the executive as second vice-president. Colin Younker (The Spa Total Fitness Centre), Barb Smith (Stewart McKelvey) Ashlee London, (Elanco – Aqua Health Business), Mike Cronkhite (TD Bank Financial Group), and Doug Ezeard (Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis) will join the Board of Directors.
The AGM takes place Wednesday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m., in the Delta Prince Edward.
