Murphy Hospitality Group recently purchased the property that has been known before as Café St. Jean and Dayboat with the plan to turn it into an event center, a wedding place, and a corporate retreat place.
The hospitality group was looking at its catering division at the P.E.I. Brewing Company and saw a need and demand for a new location on the water that could support the convention business, a market that is after night dinners and corporate events.
The building which is located near the corner of Route 6 and the Grand Pere Point Road, will be renamed, renovated and ready for business by June 1. It is estimated that the business will create six to 10 new jobs.
