Internationally renowned CEO and corporate director, Brendan Paddick offered an engaging and entertaining talk on building a positive corporate culture to almost 400 Chamber members and supporters at the Annual President’s Luncheon on May 10.
Paddick, a native of Grand Falls, Newfoundland told the story of how he worked his way from a door-to-door cable salesman to the CEO of the multi-billion dollar telecommunications company, Columbus International. He explained how creating a positive corporate culture was a key component of his success.
“I have always tried to recruit and hire professionals who are smarter than me and more talented than me at their area of expertise. Business leaders should never be intimidated to seek out such individuals because in the end they broaden your perspective, help you grow as a leader, increase your odds of success and inevitably make you look good… leadership is all about setting the tone from the top as it relates to corporate culture or as I put it, ‘Culture isn’t the most important thing… it’s the only thing!'”
