Starting on June 27th, the Charlottetown Airport will be welcoming a new airline to Prince Edward Island as Swoop launches non-stop service between Charlottetown and Hamilton International Airport. This new service will operate 3 times per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday).
Swoop (www.flyswoop.com) is an ULCC (Ultra Low-Cost Carrier) that is independently operated as part of the Westjet Group of companies, offering point-to-point scheduled service to 23 seasonal and year-round destinations in Canada, the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. Swoop started operations in June 2018 with 189-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The Charlottetown-Hamilton service will continue until mid-October and result in approximately 18,000 additional seats to the PEI market in 2020.
