Charlottetown – The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate its Executive Director, Kathy Hambly, on winning the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada’s Executive Director of the Year award in the category of Chambers of Commerce serving less than 100,000 people. This award recognizes excellence in contributions to the Chamber profession, innovation in their Chamber and outstanding management. The award was presented at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting in Ottawa, Ontario on October 16, 2015.
Hambly has overseen the creation of numerous innovative projects through the Chamber, including Island Advance, PEI Connectors, HR Toolkit and the Good News Program, among many others. “Kathy has demonstrated tremendous leadership and support for the growth of our Chamber, the Greater Charlottetown Area and the province as a whole. She has the ability to balance delivering value to our members and delivering strategic initiatives to support economic prosperity, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Chamber” said Wendy Drake, President of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Kathy Hambly joined the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce as a business owner in 1978. She has been an asset to the Chamber ever since. Hambly has held numerous roles with the Chamber throughout her career and served as President from 2002 to 2003. Since January 2005, Hambly has served as the Chamber’s Executive Director. She sees the real value that the Chamber brings to the business community and the economy as a whole; she dedicates long hours to ensuring the Chamber is affecting real change.
