On January 14, the Chamber submitted our recommendations for the City of Charlottetown in the form of a letter ahead of the Finance Committee’s pre-budget consultations.
In our recommendations we advocated for four specific things:
- Freezing of Parking Rates
- Freezing of Commercial Property Taxes
- Further Resources in Service Delivery and Business Development
- Transparent Planning for Future Rate Increase
We note that considering the City posted a $6.3 Million surplus for 2020-21, investments are possible without causing a deficit.
The information included in our submission was based on the collective feedback of the Chamber Membership, Board of Directors, and Advocacy Committee.
