We’re excited to celebrate Cooke Insurance on its 26-year Member-versary with the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce!
We did a Q&A with President Gillian Corriveau to learn more about her business, her experience as a Chamber member, and what’s ahead.
Cooke Insurance is deeply rooted in the communities we serve, combining a strong local touch with the national strength of Navacord. Guided by our core pillars of Quality, Integrity, and Respect, we make decisions locally and focus on building long‑term relationships that truly matter. Now in our third generation of leadership, we’re proud to have spent 25 years as members of the Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce—and to have been part of so many Island businesses’ journeys as they grow, evolve, and succeed.

- What’s your favourite hidden gem on PEI?
The quiet, everyday moments—early morning drives before the phones start ringing, or a walk near the water after a long day. Those small pockets of calm are a reminder of why doing business on PEI is amazing.
- How have you seen the Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce grow and evolve during your 25+ years as a member?
The Chamber has grown alongside the business community. What started as connection and networking has evolved into real advocacy, collaboration, and leadership—helping local businesses navigate change while still keeping that Island sense of community front and centre.
- If you could only eat one PEI dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fresh PEI lobster—simple, local, and best enjoyed with good people. It doesn’t get more Island than that.
- What have you appreciated the most about being a Chamber member over the years?
The relationships. The Chamber brings people together in a way that feels genuine. You get to know the faces behind the businesses, and those connections matter—especially in an industry built on trust.
- Can you share a memorable PEI moment from your time running your business here?
Some of the most meaningful moments have been helping local businesses through tough times and celebrating their successes as they grow. When clients come back years later—and even bring the next generation with them—that’s incredibly rewarding.
- How do you think the Chamber has influenced local businesses and the community during your membership?
By giving businesses a collective voice. The Chamber has helped shape conversations, support growth, and strengthen the link between business and community—something PEI does especially well.
- What’s one thing about PEI you think people often overlook or don’t appreciate enough?
How deeply connected everything is. On PEI, business is personal. People genuinely want to support one another, and that sense of care makes a real difference.
- What makes your business unique?
We’re local, relationship‑driven, and deeply rooted in the community. We don’t just provide advice—we take the time to understand people, their businesses, and what matters most to them, and we stay with them for the long haul.
- What’s your go‑to way to relax and enjoy the Island’s natural beauty?
Time near the water with my kids—no agenda, no rush. It’s the best way to reset and gain perspective.
- What advice would you give to newer businesses on PEI?
Get involved and build relationships early. Be present in the community, lean on local support, and remember that on PEI, trust and reputation go a long way.
