35-Year Member-versary Spotlight: Quartermaster Marine

We’re excited to celebrate Quartermaster Marine on its 35-year Member-versary with the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce!

We did a Q&A with Owner/President Jason Craig to learn more about his business, his experience as a Chamber member, and what’s ahead.

  1. What’s your favourite hidden gem on PEI? The dunes in Stanley Bridge.
  2. How have you seen the Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce grow and evolve during your 25+ years as a member? There are so many local businesses part of the Chamber now. It’s become such a large community with tons of resources at our disposal.
  3. If you could only eat one PEI dish for the rest of your life, what would it be? A good ol’ lobster dinner.
  4. What have you appreciated the most about being a Chamber member over the years? We really appreciate the exposure that comes with being part of the Chamber, as well as all the resources available to us.
  5. Can you share a memorable PEI moment from your time running your business here? We received the Bayliner award for the Largest Bayliner Dealer in the World. That was memorable for us, as Quartermaster Marine is island-born and raised, and we felt proud to call PEI home.
  6. How do you think the Chamber has influenced local businesses and the community during your membership? The Chamber has a very positive ripple effect for local businesses. From the social events you can attend to make new connections, the resources available to help your business grow, and the exposure in general.
  7. What’s one thing about PEI you think people often overlook or don’t appreciate enough? I think it’s easy for people to overlook the beauty, especially during winter. But also, the people. We’ve got the friendliest locals here who will jump at the chance to give anyone a hand.
  8. What makes your business unique? We think our business is unique in the way that it has always been family owned and run, but our QMM crew is very much our extended family. We are very close nit.
  9. What’s your go-to way to relax and enjoy the Island’s natural beauty? Cruising on my boat on the North Shore.
  10. What advice would you give to newer businesses on PEI, based on the changes and growth you’ve witnessed? The best advice I can give is always work hard and surround yourself with the best crew.
