Canada’s Food Island Gift Cards are being restocked at all Mel’s Convenience and Murphy Pharmacy locations across Prince Edward Island and Co-op stores in Tignish, O’Leary, and Souris on Thursday, October 29, 2020. The gift cards will continue to be sold at a 20 percent discount while supplies last or until November 15, 2020. Canada’s Food Island gift cards will be sold at full price after November 15, 2020.
Canada’s Food Island gift card program was launched on September 28, 2020. The first release of gift cards sold out within a week, so this restock is expected to sell out fast. There are currently over 175 merchants who accept the gift card Island-wide and the merchant directory continues to grow daily.
“We are overwhelmed with the support from Islanders by supporting Canada’s Food Island Gift Card Program. This program was developed to support businesses across PEI through a difficult time and to encourage Islanders to continue to spend locally.” Mitch Cobb, Chair of Food Island Partnership
Over the last month, consumers have been using Canada’s Food Island Gift Cards. As of Tuesday, October 27, there have been over 1,400 gift card transactions across Prince Edward Island.
“Islanders now is the time to rediscover what Canada’s Food Island has to offer! It’s time to celebrate and redeem at your favorite restaurant, market, accommodation, or local shop.” Mitch Cobb, Chair of Food Island Partnership
Accommodations across P.E.I. participated in the gift card program’s Stay & Savour promotion which offered packages to entice Islanders and short-haul travelers to stay longer and save through gift cards. The Stay & Savour promotion will continue to be offered by Accommodation partners until March 2021.
