On February 23, CPHO Dr. Heather Morrison announced that PEI will be conducting a four-week COVID-19 rapid testing pilot project for those landing at the Charlottetown Airport.
The Chamber is encouraged by this announcement and looks forward to seeing what strategies are developed with the data compiled. The introduction of innovative solutions such as rapid testing will enable our economy to get on a quicker path to recovery and potentially provide alternatives to a two-week quarantine for visitors coming to PEI.
Additionally, Dr. Morrison noted in her briefing that a regional bubble for pandemic travel is still six to eight weeks away.
