Charlottetown, PE (February 8, 2022) – The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce was encouraged to hear Premier Dennis King and Dr. Heather Morrison outline a tentative transition plan towards easing restrictions within our province, allowing for better overall planning for the upcoming tourism season.
“Islanders and business owners alike wanted a transparent and clear plan for what the easing of restrictions might look like, and this announcement does exactly that,” said Robert Godfrey, CEO of the Chamber. “This balanced approach to planning gives business owners and operators a sense of relief and the ability to plan ahead, as well as allowing Islanders to know that there is an end in sight.”
The Chamber notes that throughout the entirety of the pandemic, its members have continued to adhere to public health measures and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both customers and employees.
“Our members have had a tiring and frustrating past twenty-three months, but they have been resilient and done what they could to keep customers and employees safe,” said Godfrey. “We join the province in encouraging Islanders to continue getting vaccinated and boosted so that our Island can move forward.”
