Charlottetown, PE (June 1, 2023) – The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the swearing-in of Kim Griffin as its 118th Board President. Griffin was sworn in alongside fellow directors at the Chamber’s 136th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, May 31 at the Delta Hotels by Marriot Prince Edward.

Griffin has over ten years in the energy sector. She champions Sustainability and Corporate Communications at Maritime Electric – A Fortis Inc. Company on PEI. She is also the Official Spokesperson for the Company. Working across the Fortis companies she also proudly Chairs Fortis ACE Group focused on accelerating the customers experience across North America with her energy colleagues.

“I’m proud to serve as Chamber President for the upcoming year. You will see from me active engagement and collaboration to drive business priorities for the membership,” said Griffin. “The Chamber will continue to play a vital role as the voice of our over 1,150 business members and their over 20,000 employees. We are committed to fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, resiliency, and sustainability within our business community and Province and we look forward to working with all levels of government, stakeholders, and engaging our membership to ensure our businesses can thrive.”

Prior to her current role, Griffin she has worked across the Maritimes and central Canada for national beverage companies in marketing, regulatory, business development and public affairs. She has an undergraduate degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Public Relations and a Masters of Business Administration with distinction from Stayer University in Washington. She is also currently the Vice Chair of the PEI Liquor Control Commission and Vice Chair of the Audit Committee for the Crown Corporation.

An active community leader, Griffin is a longtime volunteer involved with the Chamber and most recently served, in addition to the Executive, as Immediate Past Chair of Governance and Chair of the Human Resources Committee and the PEI Connectors Steering Committee. She surrounds herself with inclusive and diverse people and thrives on driving change with a team.

A proud Islander, Griffin has generations of family in PEI who are fortunate to call PEI home. She enjoys spending time with her husband Danny and their young family seeking adventure outdoors.
