Charlottetown Votes: Chamber and DCI partner to host Charlottetown Mayoral Candidates Business Debate
The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Charlottetown Inc. (DCI) invite the public to attend a Charlottetown Mayoral Candidates Debate on Thursday, October 25th, 2018, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Confederation Centre of the Arts’ Memorial Hall.
“This debate provides a platform for candidates to share their vision for economic development in the City and how they plan to address some of the challenges facing the Charlottetown business community,” said Chamber CEO, Penny Walsh-McGuire. “It’s also a chance for members to learn about candidate platforms and consider who the best person is to lead the City.”
The four individuals vying for the City of Charlottetown Mayor’s role will be in attendance. Participants include Philip Brown, Kim Devine, Jamie Larkin, and Cecil Villard. Jennifer Evans, President of the Chamber Board of Directors and General Manager of Ocean 100/Hot 105.5, will moderate the debate. This event is open to the public and free to attend. No registration is required. Chamber and DCI members are welcome to submit candidate questions in advance by e-mailing chamber@insighttestsite.com and/or info@downtowncharlottetown.com.
“We’re looking forward to a lively and informative discussion,” said DCI Executive Director, Dawn Alan. “This is an opportunity for candidates to answer questions on matters of importance to our members and outline how they will promote and support business growth in the Downtown.”
On Monday, November 5th Islanders will go to the polls and vote in the 2018 municipal election. For more information on how to vote, or to register, visit electionspei.ca.
