Dear Members,

In case you missed it, watch today’s Chamber Live webinar recording on creating your businesses’ operational plan:

Today, May 13, the federal government:

  • Announced the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF), which allocates $110 million to the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency to help more businesses and organizations in sectors such as manufacturing, technology, tourism and others that are key to the regions and local economies.
  • Opened the second period of the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) that covers the timeframe of April 12 to May 9. To apply, visit the application portal.
  • Last week, the federal government indicated they would extend the CEWS beyond June. This is something the Chamber has advocated for and more details are expected from the federal government this week.
  • Learn more about the CEWS on its FAQ page.

Today, May 13, the provincial and federal governments jointly announced:

  • The Wood Islands-Caribou Ferry service will resume this Friday, May 15, 2020, for the trucking sector.

Additional provincial government notes:

As always, we will share relevant information with you as it becomes available. Please reach out with any questions, comments, or possible concerns.
