Qian Pan and Ray Cai
Formfree Branding

Business owners put their heart and soul into their work.

When it comes to getting their brand out into the world, they want someone as passionate as they are; someone to get the job done right. Whether in need of a new sign, brochure or banner, Qian Pan and Ray Cai, owners of Formfree Branding, are a team people can rely on for high-quality printing and display services.

Formfree Branding is tucked away in the lower level of the Confederation Court Mall. When you stop by, you’ll be sure to be greeted with a friendly smile from Qian and Ray. The husband and wife duo moved to PEI from Guangzhou, China, five years ago. They’ve owned and operated their company for almost 20 years, however in China, they were primarily focused on branding and advertising work instead of printing. The days were long and hectic, both working 10 hours a day, six or seven days a week. They decided to move their family to the Island to start a new, peaceful life.

When Qian and Ray first moved to the Island, they received lots of help and advice from different local suppliers, including KKP and Pressed 4 Time. Qian and Ray are grateful their work allows them to make connections with people in their community. They also love that their new career provides more work-life balance so they can spend time with family enjoying the beautiful Island.

For Qian and Ray, making the move to Canada was a “no-brainer”, however starting a business in a new country certainly had its challenges. For instance, pricing and copyright laws around printing and photography are different in China. Qian and Ray had to adjust to these changes themselves, but they also had to explain this to their Chinese customers, which has been one of their biggest challenges. About fifty percent of their customers are also newcomers to Canada.

For Qian and Ray, the best part of their jobs is connecting with Islanders and seeing their client’s work come to life. They love receiving positive feedback from their clients and are filled with a sense of pride when they see their work on display out in public.
