Charlottetown, PE – The Greater Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce will host the 14th annual President’s Excellence Awards, sponsored by Atlantic Lottery, on Thursday, November 21st, 2019, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Prince Edward. Twenty finalists will be recognized for their excellence in eight different award categories during the Chamber’s biggest night of the year.
“Local businesses have provided a great impact on the success of our economy over the past year,” said Chamber Board of Directors President, Dawn Binns. “The President’s Excellence Awards is a night the Chamber and its members look forward to every year. It’s an evening to toast to the dedication, passion, achievements, and success of our local businesses in the greater Charlottetown area.”
Over 50 organizations were nominated by their peers for these prestigious business awards. An independent panel of six judges adjudicated the submissions and selected three finalists in each category.
The Excellence in Business Award, sponsored by Scotiabank, is given to a for-profit business that has been operating for over ten years while demonstrating excellence in all areas of business operations. The 2019 finalists are Bevan Bros. Plumbing & Heating, MRSB Group, and Vogue Optical.
The Emerging Business Award, sponsored by the City of Charlottetown, is presented to a business that has been operating between two and five years and has demonstrated significant growth, innovation, and leadership in their industry. Dosecann Cannabis Solutions, Reset Breathe Fitness, and SableARC Studios are the finalists in this category.
The Workplace Excellence Award, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada, recognizes an organization that, through its human resources practices, provides an exceptional workplace environment resulting in high employee satisfaction and retention. The finalists in this category include BioVectra Inc., Invesco, and RBC Dominion Securities.
The Excellence in Customer Service Award, co-sponsored by BDO and Cox & Palmer, recognizes an organization that demonstrates a high level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction. Honoured in this category are 3rd Degree Training, Grand Senses Spa, and Papa Joe’s.
The Not-for-Profit Excellence Award, sponsored by Results Marketing & Advertising, recognizes the accomplishments of an organization in the not-for-profit sector that has established a reputation for delivering a high level of programs and/or services, a track record of efficient and effective management, and strong board governance. Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Island, Prince Edward Island BioAlliance, and Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island (TIAPEI) are the finalists in this category.
The People’s Choice for Community Impact Award, sponsored by MRSB Group, is determined through an online voting poll that will open to the public shortly. The finalists for this category include The Friendly S.P.U.D. Productions, Reactive Health, and Nine Yards Studio.
The recipients for the Chamber Volunteer Excellence Award, sponsored by Maritime Electric and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, sponsored by Provincial Credit Union, are determined by an Executive Committee of the Chamber and will be announced at a later date.
