The Kiwanis Club is celebrating 75 years.
The Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown held it’s first meeting at the Charlottetown Hotel on Nov 18th 1947 and after 75 years we are still around doing work in our community.
Over the last 75 years Kiwanis has accomplished a lot of amazing things. Currently, we operate the oldest dairy bar on the Island which opened in 1955 as a fundraiser for park upgrades. We also operate the Kiwanis Bingo Country. In 2004 Kiwanis opened the Abe Zakem House, a 22 unit affordable housing project located on Water Street.
Every year we give back thousands of dollars to Island charities Island wide. Some of these awesome groups include, BGC, BBBS, Ground Search and Rescue, Kiwanis Music Festival, Island hospitals and IWK, Food Banks, Leadership Camps, scholarships at UPEI, Holland Collage, Colonel Grey and countless other projects.
We are proud of the work we do in our community and want to thank YOU for supporting us over the last 75 years. If you are interested in learning more about Kiwanis please send us an email – kiwanis.charlottetown@gmail.com
