Charlottetown, PE – Lauren Sears, ecosystem builder; people and idea connector; and Partner with Imaginal Ventures Inc. will be the virtual keynote speaker at the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce 2021 President’s Luncheon. The luncheon, sponsored by Richardson Wealth, will be presented in person and virtually on Wednesday, May 12, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Prince Edward.
Sears’ keynote, Grow Sustainably: Creating Renewable Energy through Culture, will tell the story of one millennial Maritimer’s triumphs and tribulations while navigating the waters of entrepreneurship. She will speak on building a stronger, more inclusive workplace through skilled leadership and offer new ways to think about how organizations can fuel their teams- the driving force behind business success.
A relationship-builder by trade, Lauren has an educational background in psychology, business, and organizational behaviour. A successful university athletic career paired with 13 years of coaching high-performance sport nurtured her curiosity for developing people and teams.
Lauren has a broad knowledge of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, with expertise in social enterprise and purpose-led business models. She has spent her career in Nova Scotia start-ups, including co-founding an employment strategy and recruitment firm in 2017 (P4G C.I.C.) and supporting the launch of 45 other social enterprises in the province. She has led, managed, and empowered many teams, including building a start-up into a full-blown organization.
Her combination of experience has created a strong skillset in business and strategy development, sector and ecosystem building, government relations, human dynamics, and developing culture as an intentional asset. Lauren is an established speaker and has moderated and presented at more than 50 national and international conferences.
“We are excited to welcome Lauren Sears to deliver this year’s annual luncheon keynote,” said Colin Younker, President of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce. “With Lauren’s experience in social enterprise, strategy development, and human dynamics, we look forward to learning more on how organizations can improve their workplace culture and create more inclusive environments.”
