In the summer of 2019, several Chamber members expressed concerns regarding the severity of the increase of their City of Charlottetown water and sewer utility bills. In some cases, members saw bills go up anywhere from 25-60%. In certain instances, the increase occurred despite a reduction in their water consumption. They also shared that the lack of notice of the rate change had a negative impact on their business operations.

Since this time, the Chamber has corespended and met with the City to seek clarification on the matter. The letter below outlines questions the Chamber has for the City from their latest meeting on December 9, 2019.
