Sponsored by Atlantic Lottery, the President’s Excellence Awards gala is the Chamber’s biggest night of the year, where Chamber members and community leaders gather to celebrate the successes, innovations, and contributions of our local entrepreneurs. As nominations for the 2023 President’s Excellence Awards continue to roll in, we thought we’d answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the awards process.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Any organization or entrepreneur you think deserves to be celebrated. They can be your clients, friends, family, neighbours, suppliers, partners, service providers, etc.

How do I submit my nominations?
To make your nominations, simply fill out the nomination form. All you need is the name of the organization you are nominating, a company contact, and your basic contact information. It only takes a few minutes!

What if I don’t know the contact information of a representative from the organization I want to nominate?
If you do not know the contact information of the company representative you feel is best suited to be contacted about the nomination process, try checking their website or social platforms. If necessary, put “N/A” in the required fields and the Chamber team will do our best to find out.

Can I nominate my own business for an award?
Yes – self-nominations are highly encouraged!

You can make as many nominations as you’d like. We encourage you to submit as many as you can in each of our nine categories!

What categories can not-for-profit organizations be nominated in?
Not-for-profits can be nominated in the Not-for-Profit Excellence, Workplace Excellence, and People’s Choice for Community Impact categories.

What are the next steps after nominations close?
If your organization has been nominated, you will be contacted by a Chamber representative to either accept or decline your nomination. Upon acceptance, you will be asked to complete a 5-question submission form so we can learn more about your organization and how you fit within the category requirements. The more you put into your submission, the greater your chances are of being selected as a finalist, and ultimately, the winner!
