Public to vote for winner of Chamber’s new President’s Excellence Award

October 16, 2018 – Charlottetown, PE – The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce a new award category for the 2018 President’s Excellence Awards Gala – the People’s Choice for Community Impact Award.

Sponsored by MRSB Group, this award will recognize a small business that has earned an engaged following and loyal support from the community. The winner of this award will be decided by the public through online voting on the Chamber’s website- closes at 11:59 p.m. ADT on Thursday, October 25, 2018.

“We are delighted to have this new award category included for the 2018 Gala,” said Jennifer Evans, Chamber Board President. “Businesses rely on the support and engagement of our local community. This award provides the Chamber with the opportunity to recognize local businesses who are truly making a great impact.”

An independent panel of judges selected three finalists from the nominees for this award category:

Bricks 4 Kidz PEI operates under coSolved Consulting, which also provides programming for STEAM PEI. Both programs teach students science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on camps, preschool, in-school and after-school classes and team-building workshops.

Charlottetown Islanders is P.E.I.’s only QMHL hockey club. Coming off of a very successful season, the Islander’s continue to work on growing their fan base across the province and engaging youth within the community. With support from the Islander’s community partners the team has developed a number of youth focused programming.

T3 Transit has 11 buses that travel through Charlottetown, Cornwall and Stratford daily, servicing approximately 2,800 passengers per day. They focus on promoting the use of public transportation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and providing top-notch transportation services for their customers.

The winner will be announced at the President’s Excellence Awards Gala taking place on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 6:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at the Delta Prince Edward by Marriott. There are 22 finalists being recognized in nine award categories: Not-for-Profit Excellence, Export Excellence, Customer Service Excellence, Workplace Excellence, Emerging Business Excellence, Excellence in Business, Entrepreneur of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and the new People’s Choice for Community Impact.
