Charlottetown, PE – Today, Wednesday, June 24, 2020, Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce Interim CEO, Gerard Adams issued the following statement regarding the announcement of an Atlantic “Travel Bubble” beginning on July 3, 2020:
“The Chamber is pleased the Atlantic provinces have reached an agreement to ease provincial border restrictions and allow for an Atlantic travel bubble beginning July 3, 2020. Allowing increased inter-provincial travel is welcome news for our local business community, especially those in the tourism and hospitality industry, who have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We look forward to further details of how the bubble will be safely managed within the province and would also like to see such information released in a comprehensive plan that outlines how and when all non-residents will be permitted to enter PEI. Overall, this is very positive news for our Island economy and small business community.”
