After a two-week renovation closure in January, The Gallery has resumed its regular café hours and offerings – with an overhauled menu and a lot of added ambience.
Owners Jessica and Mike Fritz are excited about the upgrades they were able to make in such a short time frame. Some are immediately noticeable layout improvements, others are smaller design changes, and a lot are invisible behind the scenes enhancements, such as technology refinements.
“The main reason for the renovation”, says Mike Fritz, “was to create a more functional washroom area.” By turning the back hallway into an all gender washroom space with a common sink area and three stalls – one of which is wheelchair accessible, they have achieved just that. “And we have also increased our legal customer capacity to 75 guests – a game changer for hosting private events”, states Jessica Fritz.
Rethinking the layout to accommodate the above has then allowed them to open up and enlarge their counter space. Spacious functionality and an efficient work flow are important success factors in any coffee shop as they allow for reducing wait times and increasing offerings. A wider variety of treats will come to their location soon. Jessica Fritz also adds: “The more open space allows customers to see that we have lots more seating in our backroom; something even many of our regulars didn’t know to date.”
Lastly, there is the new nook, a cozy remote corner with some fun surprise features. We will let you discover that for yourself!
The Gallery – Coffee House & Bistro is open every day from 8 to 5. (Their kitchen closes at 3.)
