Menstrual May is a menstrual product collection effort aimed at addressing period poverty across PEI. Hundreds of women, girls, non-binary, and transgender individuals in our community struggle to access menstrual products due to cost, location, or other barriers—sometimes leading them to miss school, work, or daily activities.

United Way Maritimes is encouraging businesses and individuals to collect and donate menstrual products throughout the month of May. Donations will be accepted from May 6–31, 2026, at designated collection locations across the Island. These include Kay’s Wholesale, Bell Aliant Centre, Boys and Girls Club Prince County, the Charlottetown, Summerside and Montague Rotary Public Libraries, the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women, and The Guild. All collected items will be distributed to United Way-supported agencies and community organizations serving individuals who menstruate.
